Give Date Picker Access to Magic Text

Currently, the standalone date picker component cannot access the current record, which makes it difficult to set a default date that matches the record the user is viewing. Adding Magic Text support would solve this problem.

I'm not sure how much additional development time it would require, but could you add Magic Text functionality to the standalone Dropdown component outside of the form component? For example, I am using Xano as my backend, and it would be great if I could add Magic Text to the dropdown in the same way it works for a text input field. I don't need the default field mapped to a database table, just simple Magic Text functionality like that of the text input field.

Magic Text as Date Picker Default

Allowing the default date in a form date picker to be set as magic text. Right now if you add an edit screen with a form and date picker, but you don't want to modify the date, it will set the date back to the default you have set. Allowing this to be set with magic text as the original dates for the property would eliminate this issue. In the case of a first and last day input when setting up a new event, you can set the last day as magic text of the first day so the user does not have to scroll through as many dates in the last day form.

Please enable Date Picker to operate against a field in collection when its not used inside a form element. Date Picker should be able map to a date field in a collection, like the standard input field component. It should be able to display the current date in the collection and if the user clicks on the date they then get the calendar drop down to select any new date.
Pretty standard functionality.
If I have it wrong or there is another component or way of doing this.. PLEASE let me know.
Also if we can stretch it. The date field should have more format settings or regex type syntax to be able to show the date the way the app needs to display it for example dd, mmm, yyyy or dd mmm or with different time expressions as well.

I agree. This simple but yet lacking feature requires a lot of work around when you want to edit an excisting event for instance.
