Allowing the default date in a form date picker to be set as magic text. Right now if you add an edit screen with a form and date picker, but you don't want to modify the date, it will set the date back to the default you have set. Allowing this to be set with magic text as the original dates for the property would eliminate this issue. In the case of a first and last day input when setting up a new event, you can set the last day as magic text of the first day so the user does not have to scroll through as many dates in the last day form.

Please enable Date Picker to operate against a field in collection when its not used inside a form element. Date Picker should be able map to a date field in a collection, like the standard input field component. It should be able to display the current date in the collection and if the user clicks on the date they then get the calendar drop down to select any new date.

Pretty standard functionality.

Also if we can stretch it. The date field should have more format settings or regex type syntax to be able to show the date the way the app needs to display it for example dd, mmm, yyyy or dd mmm or with different time expressions as well.

The date picker's "default date" should have an already existing date connected to the data available to the page, not just how many days from today.

Currently the date picker only has default values that are current date/time related. The component should support magic text to use collection values from the data links to that screen. This would be helpful so the component can be used both for creating editing records.
