Hello Everyone - I just wanted to share our experience with Jonathan Solorzano and intellbits. We hired them to build a component for Adalo and they took on the project and promised to deliver. After going WAY over their initial timeline, they literally delivered a much worse version of what we already built and was in the app store. We bent over backwards to give them all of the information they needed, linked them with Pathfix, etc. At the end of the day, they kept our deposit and delivered absolutely nothing worthwhile. Stay far away if looking for Adalo or any other dev work. Happy to chat more about it if anyone has questions.

Andreas Ayo Cruz: did you get this working? Does this work in pwa, or only when installed?
R
Robin Bdru
asyncscrum: I don't understand at all what the hell a link fonction is doing here
R
Robin Bdru
Jonathan Solorzano: Thank you for your hard work, could you tell us how to use it ? There is no "start scan" button actually.
Marcos Lopez
Robin Bdru: Currently it is the first version, it recognizes the QR code automatically and performs an action based on the recognition of the code, it does not have the button option, you can leave your comments about what things you need to improve the component

Marcos Lopez: Does my app need to be published as real iOS app or does the scanner work with Adalo preview ?
A
Andreas Ayo Cruz
asyncscrum, so far I only have pwa, but it doesn't work
Marcos Lopez
Robin Bdru: If currently in IOS or android, since the library used is only for native applications, it cannot be viewed in Adalo preview for that reason, later we will see if there is an option for the web
R
Robin Bdru
Marcos Lopez: Alright, thank you it is good to know.
This feature is critical for me as I want to develop an inventory scanning app for my startup's MVP.
I'll develop every other aspect of the app but I'll only know if this hard work was worth it when I'll publish it...
Here is some way to generate my app onto my iPhone in order to test the scanner without having to publish onto App Store ?
Have a good day !
Marcos Lopez
Robin Bdru: https://help.adalo.com/testing-your-app in this way you have to post to see how it works.

This is an explanation of the component
The QR Code Scanner component was designed to work on Android and iOS (it does not work on PWA) as the component needs the smartphone camera capabilities.
The way the component works is that the camera is activated in the component location page and when the QR is read it can perform different actions available in Ádalo and additionally, the information of the QR Code (Data and Encoded Data) is available as magic text. .
Attention: The component cannot be viewed in the Ádalo platform preview. To see how it works, you can use TestFlight on iOS and on Android the APK, for more information about this process you can read this part of the Adalo documentation: https://help.adalo.com/testing-your-app
Additionally, the component also reads Barcodes for those who require it. Soon it will be given a more descriptive name
I hope this helps

Marcos Lopez: Thank you very much, a lot of people will need those informations. Cheers !

Marcos Lopez: thanks for your response! I'll publish to native and see how it works!

CodeFlex Management
Jonathan Solorzano Have you gotten any response on the review?
Jonathan Solorzano
CodeFlex Management: Still in review process
Jonathan Solorzano
I've got good news 🎉! At intellbits.com we've been working on a QR Code Scanner in the last couple of weeks, we are sending the component for Adalo's review today, we hope to get your feedback on how to improve it after published 👍
Tomasz Kolnierzak
Jonathan Solorzano: Is there any possibility to add Bar Code Scanner to your component?
Jonathan Solorzano
Tomasz Kolnierzak: Sure!, We'll add it as an update
Tomasz Kolnierzak
Jonathan Solorzano: It would be great! The lack of this functionality is the only reason why I cannot move the application to Adalo.
