Need also validation for wrong inputs. Certain fields require numbers larger than or smaller than etc.

Would be good to have the standard input field apply regex rules and have a few preformatted input rules. But for each regex rule or preformatted rule you can have error message placed in predefined location with padding around the input field. Therefore if I set the field to be number, text with length or type constraints etc. we can provide an error message as people are typing or after the fact when button is pressed. This would be for desktop mainly.

Really need phone number format validation. It's a common input type that is easy to type wrong and doesn't have another solution like a date picker.
